PSA Group reinforces its position in South Africa through a significant partnership with VT Holding. This 51/49 joint venture was sealed on June 1st 2017, and lays the ground for a strategic partnership between both companies.
This agreement will allow the Peugeot brand to strengthen its position in South Africa through an upgrade of the entire value chain.
The new 2008 SUV has recently been launched with great success and is the first of many exciting products to come in the next few months.
The next sensational model to be launched in August 2017 is the all new Peugeot 3008 SUV. This model has already been honored worldwide with over 20 awards as well as being named 2017 European Car of the Year. It has achieved massive success worldwide and we expect it will continue to do so in the South African market.
In reference to the PSA Group press release dated 1 June 2017 and further to the conclusion of the Joint Venture between VT Holdings and PSA Group that Francisco Gaie has been appointed as the new Managing Director.
He replaces Francis Harnie who after being with the company for six years has returned to Europe.
Francisco has extensive experience in the Motor industry having spent time in Nagoya Japan where he was involved in various operational and financial positions pertinent to the motor industry before returning to South Africa.
He joined the Trust Auto Group in 2013 where most recently he was the Chief Operating Officer overseeing retail operations.
“It is time to move forward in creating a new and exciting vision, one that produces even greater opportunities to our employees, dealers and most importantly to our customers.
“We have new developments planned around products, aftersales and parts which we are confident will result in greater efficiencies, increase our market share and strengthen our position in the South African market place.” Francisco said.
