What was the initial brief?
Before there was even the hint of a marketing idea, this project saw the light of day at the Peugeot Style Centre. It was the enthusiasts' pet project. Passionate about cars, they wanted a car that would also be a sports car, borrowing a little from the idea of the small Ferrari saloons of the 60s. But the desire to create something different was really the key to the project at the outset.
The real innovation lay in the fact that the car was designed as an "affordable" sports car, a sports car that could be used. Then, apart from purely style considerations, a further aspect of the mission was to compare petrol and Diesel engines
The leitmotif: sporty but. affordable?
In fact, it is not a luxury Ferrari at a luxury price. This had to be an affordable sports car, but not only in terms of price: there were the engine, the size and usage costs, as well as driver comfort to consider. The gamble paid off, as anyone sitting behind the wheel will tell you! Sit in and it just has to be yours.
