Painting with water
At first sight, the paint is what is most noticeable on a car. But apart from this aesthetic aspect, automotive paint is a complex technical product, perpetually evolving.
Apart from their aesthetic nature, automotive paints must keep an impeccable appearance for the vehicle as long as possible by resisting everyday external aggression.
For improved environmental conservation, bodywork paint contains fewer and fewer organic solvents.
Their use is reduced considerably by water-soluble paints. They have gone from around 80% to only 12%. For the same performance as solvent-based paint, the water-dilutable bases discharge almost 5 times less volatile organic compounds into the atmosphere.
