02 11 2010Peugeot, the Lion of the Rally in Italy
2 November 2010
Here is the rundown of Peugeot Italy's sporting activity for the last 3 seasons of the Rally d'Italia Championship. Once again this year, the 207 Super 2000 proved too tough for the competition.
So, after taking the Drivers' champions title, won by the official Peugeot team pairing Paolo Andreucci and Anna Andreussi, Peugeot went on to win the prestigious Constructors' champions title - the perfect way to celebrate the bicentenary of the Peugeot Brand.
The Andreucci/Andreussi team was slowed down by a puncture in the middle of the race. The decisive points of the Como Rally, the 8th and final stage of the championship, were therefore won by two private drivers, Alessandro Perico and Corrado Fontana.
A young driver, Andrea Carella, raced in the Como Rally driving an official Peugeot Italy car. He finished in an admirable 8th place, ahead of several official teams.
