24 August 2010 - Team bizhub's British rider Catherine Williamson put in a fine performance in the GP Plouay-Bretagne World Cup Classic in France on Saturday.

Williamson, who raced in South Africa this summer and will be returning for the end-of-season classics, finished 19th in a field that contained all of the world's top female riders.

The 114.6-kilometre race was won by British champion Emma Pooley (Cervelo) ahead of Holland's Marianne Vos (Nederland Bloeit), who sealed her third overall World Cup title in the process. Sweden's Emma Johansson (Redsun Cycling Team) was third.

The 27-year-old Williamson, who rode for the British national team in France, will be remembered for finishing third in this year's Pick n Pay Cape Argus Cycle Tour.

Carla Swart, riding for MTN, was the best-placed South African in 24th place. Robyn de Groot (30th), Cherise Taylor (37th) and Ashleigh Moolman (40th) also completed the race.

Williamson is currently on the shortlist for a spot on the British National Team for October's UCI Road World Championships in Australia.
